TCTSY is a yoga practice which was designed to help individuals with PTSD reduce the negative impacts of trauma in their lives. Research has shown that it helps as an addition to therapy and more recent research suggests it is as effective as talk therapy. About Faciltator
Amanda Johnston is a counselor and TCTSY facilitator who has been practicing yoga in her personal life for more than 10 years. In her counseling practice, she noticed a need to respond to the way trauma effects the body because so many clients knew that their trauma was not their fault and that the threat was gone but felt differently in their body. After learning about TCTSY in The Body Keeps the Score, she earned her 300 hour certification in TCTSY in 2022 and opened Lotus Trauma Sensitive Yoga in 2023.
